Our Vision
Our founding vision is to be the voice of the Tamil Community and to bring awareness to the people of the United Kingdom and the International Community the issues affecting Tamil people in the United Kingdom, in the island of Sri Lanka and around the world.
Our vision for lasting peace and security is through a permanent political settlement to the Tamil national question by recognising the Tamil people’s right to self-determination and self-rule in their Homeland in the North-East of the island of Sri Lanka.
Our Mission
Our organisation will be the bridging voice between the British Tamil Community and the Tamil people in the island of Sri Lanka
To respect and promote the rich and ancient traditions and values of the Tamil people;
To defend the Tamil people from forces which threaten their identity and their very existence;
To campaign for the Tamil people’s collective right to self-determination in the island of Sri Lanka;
To campaign for Tamil people’s freedom adhering to international and UK national laws in a non-violent manner;
We will harness the skills and the knowledge of the members of the forum, well-wishers and significant others including human rights defenders and the mainstream decision makers in the UK to alleviate the sufferings of the Tamils in the Island of Sri Lanka;
Helping Tamil people to rebuild their lives affected by the war and empower our people in the North-East of Sri Lanka;
To campaign for establishing the truth and delivering justice for all victims of war in Sri Lanka through an international justice mechanism; and
To address the root cause to the conflict by an internationally supported political settlement that recognises the right to self-determination of Tamil people within the democratic framework underpinned by the international laws, covenants and conventions.
