The British Tamils Forum sincerely thank the members of APPG for Tamils, Rt. Hon Joan Ryan MP, Siobhain Mcdonald MP, Paul Scully MP and Sir Ed Davey MP for writing to the Foreign Secretary Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP calling to withdraw diplomatic papers and remove Sri Lanka’s Defence Attaché Brigadier Priyanka Fernando from the UK. We are yet to see any action by our government for that call.
Our government and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is very silent on this matter. The British Tamil Community is very shocked and sadden by the inaction of our government for that threat by Sri Lanka’s Defence Attaché Brigadier Priyanka Fernando.
Also, it must be noted that the UK government spent tax payer £6 million to educate the Sri Lanka’s military on Human Right during 2015/2016. However, they failed to carried out a proper vetting to identify this individual who was involved in the war in 2008/2009.
The British Tamils Forum has written to the Foreign Secretary Rt. Hon Boris Johnson MP on this matter and waiting for a positive response at the earliest.
Sri Lanka’s Defence Attaché Brigadier Priyanka Fernando threatened to kill the British Tamil protesters in this country.
